Saucon Valley buttons up for 2009 U.S. Women's Open


The stage is set for the 64th U.S. Women’s Open Championship that will take place this week (July 6 – 12, 2009) at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Called "the most prestigious event in women's golf" 156 of the top professional and amateur women golfers from 21 nations will dish it out at the picturesque Old Course of the Saucon Valley Country Club for a $585,000 purse.

Along with the unscripted excitement the 2009 U.S. Women’s Open provides something for everyone with a special emphasis on the whole family. Kids under the age of 18 are admitted FREE and an interactive on-site experience will be in place for younger children at the Kids Club.

14 hours of broadcast coverage will be on later in the week on ESPN – Thursday and Friday (2 - 6 p.m.) and NBC – Saturday and Sunday (3 - 6 p.m.) with daily tickets available at participating Wegmans groceries store.
