Turks & Caicos – Gobeachfest is an event planned for November 7 -14, 2009 as a full athletic retreat and destination vacation targeting athletic, adventurous travelers. Gobeachfest has secured the golf course in Turks and Caicos for the two week event. This allows single or group golfers to attend, play and network with other golfers and other athletes. The event is a full destination vacation that offers all the amenities of a beach resort vacation with the addition of world class athletic training and socializing with people of similar interests. Pro athletes from many disciplines and locations will be featured and will offer daily training sessions to all attendees.
Known for its natural, rugged layout through limestone outcroppings, Provo Golf Club combines a test of golf with the natural flora and fauna of the island. Fairways are lined throughout with native island bush, combining with inland lakes and numerous palm trees to compliment playing surfaces. There is an abundance of birdlife, with the lakes home to an array of colorful native birds including egrets, various types of heron and waterfowl and migratory flamingos. Since 1992 the challenging layout has been enjoyed by club members and resort golfers alike, and attracts many return visitors to tackle the unique ‘target-style’ course.
Gobeachfest is an event born out of Volleyball Vacations that has thrived for the past fifteen years and hosted over 34 events around the world. The Turks & Caicos event in November of 2008 was the largest event in the history of the company and brought the highest caliber of athletes, in the sport of volleyball, including 2008 Olympic Gold Medalists Phil Dalhausser and Kerri Walsh. Expanding upon the Volleyball Vacations concept, Gobeachfest is created to be the ultimate sports and social vacation. Attendees will enjoy outdoor activities and athletics during a week long, all-inclusive vacation at the Club Med Resort in Turks and Caicos.
